Webmail Code of Conduct
The following is an extract from our ICT acceptable use policy
which relates to email:
- Computer access
may only be made with the user's authorised username and
password, which must not be given to any other person.
- School email
use must be appropriate to a student’s education or to staff
professional activity.
- Copyright and
intellectual property rights must be respected.
- Users are
responsible for e-mail they send and for contacts made.
E-mail should be written carefully and politely.
Communications by e-mail are not secure and as such, should
be regarded as public property and must include the standard
disclaimer.
- Students must
never give out personal details such as name, address, age
or telephone number. Any unsuitable communications received
must be reported to a member of staff immediately.
- Use for
personal financial gain, gambling, political purposes or
advertising is forbidden.
- Irresponsible
use will result in the loss of access to your WSC email
account.
The school will exercise its right to monitor the use of
computer systems, including the interception of e-mails and the
deletion of inappropriate materials at all times. In
circumstances where the school believes unauthorised use of the
computer system is, or may be taking place, or the system is, or
may be, being used for unlawful purposes, the school reserves
the right to inform appropriate authorities and provide
documentary evidence.
