World War Rations - Year 9 Cooking
Year 9 History students experienced cooking with ration type
ingredients to find out what it was like to eat during the war.
Below are some photos from the day as well as a student's
review:
Billy Severn
Cheesy Pudding Pie
How difficult was the
recipe to cook?
The recipe to cook was very
easy, all I had to do was mix all the ingredients in a bowl
(eggs, cheese, mustard) and put it in the Oven.
Would the recipe be good
for people living in World War Two?
The recipe would be perfect
for families living in the Home Front. It's really easy to
cook to it would free the mothers up for war work. There was
loads made with not many ingredients so there would be lots
for leftovers.
Does it taste good and how
would you improve the recipe?
It would have tasted nice but
Kieran and me added to much salt! Less salt would have been
delicious.
